This was such a gorgeous October wedding with dark florals and a black and gold color theme. Their colors and decor were a throw back to old Hollywood glam that couldn’t have looked more perfect against the backdrop of the Chrysler Art Museum in Norfolk VA.
Joseph and Kristin wanted an upscale intimate evening wedding with glamorous vintage elements and rich colors. They chose Gold and Black with accents of marsala, burgundy and fuchsia. When deciding on the individual styling pieces for this wedding Kristin wanted to bring in hints of old Hollywood vintage without it looking like so many other Gatsby or black and gold themes we have all seen. She opted to not have the geometric designs so often chosen.
Kristin’s mermaid cut gown was a light blue color and had an illusion top, feathers and crystal detailing. She wanted something totally unique and took a gown that would not have normally been considered bridal and made it her own. Choosing a traditional veil with the nontraditional dress.
The Bride wanted a special bridal space for her Maid of Honor to get ready the morning of. So they chose to do an indulgent styled breakfast spread complete with champagne and vintage gold rimmed crystal glasses.
Joseph and Kristin live in Norfolk, VA and they met while working in Marketing. They wanted their wedding to be local. The Chrysler Museum of Art was the perfect space for this. It offered lofty high ceilings and stone walls. It was very important to them that they be with their family during the dinner reception. Instead of a sweetheart table, a large family style table was chosen with round tables on each side for the rest of the guests.
